So we all know about how important keywords are. And none of you would dream of putting up a new website or entering a new marketing niche without doing full and thorough keyword research.
And yes, I think we all understand that it applies to blog posts, websites, sales pages, articles, etc. At least it applies if we want the search engines to find it and deliver it to the right people.
But here’s the thing. And it may not be as dumb as it sounds. (or maybe it is, who knows?)
Does keyword research still count when we’re talking about social networking? Should my Twitter updates include strong keywords if I’m including a link in there? (Not too sure I’d need to include any relevant keywords if I was just tweeting about doing the ironing,
)
Okay, I admit I’ve never seen any Twitter updates in the search results when doing keyword research.
But comments on blogs, YouTube video’s, etc? Yep, they show up folks. So even though researching keywords before commenting may not be the way to go, you still want to be paying attention to what you actually write before hitting the ’submit’ button.
A careless comment posted today might just come back and bite you on the bum tomorrow.
