When you think of keywords, you generally think of search terms that are related to your market. Sounds like a good idea if you want to make sure your visitors are actually interested in your content?
After all, if you’re running a site dedicated to fishing, and hoping to make some money by folks clicking on your Adsense ‘fishing’ ads or your ‘buy your fishing tackle here’ banners, then you wouldn’t really want a basketball fan landing on your page. He’s not going to be particularly impressed, will no doubt hit the back button quicker than he’s ever slammed a dunk, and not even have noticed those killer ads that true fisherman would never be able to resist.
But sometimes unknowingly they sneak in anyways. At least they did on my Money Secret today!
Apparently, Sans Money Secret is ranked on the first page of Google for the search term (wait for it)
“the trouble with frank”
Believe it or not, this is an actual search term. In fact according to Google, an average of 73 users are likely to include this term in their searching habits every month!

Unbelievable isn’t it? Why the heck my little post about Frank Kern, would show up in those results, and on the first page at that, is beyond me.

But hey, hopefully those folks who clicked on that link enjoyed the post and who knows, they may decide to come back for more?
If you were one of them, let me know. Were you really looking for information on Frank Kern. I’d have thought the best keyword to find him would just be to search on his name, but then I’m not a techie geek. What would I know?
Mind you, given that most of the other results for that particular search term were related to the National Lampoons movie, I guess there may be a connection!
