Are you one of the people who just don’t see that ‘work‘ is actually a part of network marketing? An online business is no different to an offline business. If you don’t go to ‘work’, you don’t earn money! It’s that simple. If you’re treating an online business with less respect than you would treat a business in the real world, you are doomed to failure.
When I first started out online, I was amazed by all of the systems that promised me riches and success without any actual ‘work’ on my part. I wouldn’t have to set up a website, I didn’t have to worry about traffic, I would never need to sponsor anyone. Crikey the only ‘work’ I had to do was give them my e-mail and a chunk of my cash and I would be rich within days! Needless to say it didn’t work and all I was left with a flood of spam mails in my inbox.
Now I was lucky in that I didn’t lose a great deal of money. I only signed up to ‘free’ or ‘lowcost’ systems. But they all promised the same result as those systems that cost a fortune. Wealth and fortune - for zero work!
So if you’ve fallen for the hype don’t feel bad. I don’t think there’s a home business owner out there who hasn’t fell for it at some point in their career. But the quicker you realise that ‘hype’ is all it is, the quicker you will actually move up to achieve success.
Starting a business online is no different to starting a business in the real world. You need to plan, prepare, budget, advertise, market, sell, provide customer service, check the stock, check the figures, and the list goes on and on and on… The only difference (but the biggest benefit) with running an online home business is the startup cost and the potential profit.
An offline business will have a very limited market and usually costs a small fortune to start. If visitors can’t easily get to your store you aren’t going to make many sales. Unless your product is so awesome and so vital to their lives they can’t live without it, very few people will make a long trip to buy something. And how are they going to know about you anyway? How much will it cost to lease a building, pay the bills on that building, buy your stock, … and on it goes.
This is where running an online business wins hands down. Your ‘store‘ is your website. You can buy a domain name for less than 10 bucks, hosting can be bought for less than 5 bucks a month, and in many cases you can get it free with your domain name, advertising can be free or paid to get the visitors to your site. And you’re off.
But this is where the work comes in. Your website, domain name, hosting and advertising need to be the absolute best they can be. Because these are the foundations of your business. Without them you will fail before you start.
And you can’t build an attractive, sales converting website if you don’t know how. You can’t generate thousands of visitors to your site if you don’t know how. You can’t ‘build a business‘ if you don’t know how!
Your ‘work‘ is learning and applying all of the knowledge that you need. Discovering the best resources, the latest techniques, the most reliable sources of information, and more. Your learning never ends. You need to turn up for ‘work’ every day. If you don’t open your real world store you don’t make sales. Same online. (hint - you can automate your ’store opening’ online).
Whether you believe that work is necessary and vital to your success or whether you believe the ‘hype’ that you can become successful without it, will not change the truth of the matter.
NetWORK Marketing is a great business. I love it. I much prefer turning up to my own computer, in my own home, than dragging myself into an office. But I do turn up! And I do work.
If you don’t, then don’t complain when you don’t make money.
To Your Success
